The Empire had come into the Old World, and through centuries of conquest, had displaced and destroyed millennia of established aristocracy and society. While they were conquered by the Elysians, the Western Exarchs viewed themselves largely due to cultural differences between the Eastern-originated Elysian and were seen as conquered people who were not equals with the Elysians. While the East as incredibly grateful for the Imperium, where they were once a conquered minority under foreign rule, the Western perception was incredibly mixed. The Elysians were seen as more of a civilizing force, who conquered entire nations with the intent to create a long-lasting nation built around Elysian principles and imagery. ![]() ![]() Such examples, while encouraged due to its symbolic status, were not a realistic portrayal of what had occurred. Through their Hellenic heritage, Imperial propaganda would come to portray the Elysians in a much more ancient light, using their ancestry to portray the Elysians as a new Alexander. The dream of over two millennia had been realised, and the children of the ancient empire would finally destroy Persia and their dreams of imperium that had caused untold conflict and hostility since antiquity.
